Synk Backup Troubleshooting ReportSMB/Cifs mounting ? - Version: 6.1.1, 8/20/2007 07:40AM PST

MacWarrior
If I use the correct SMB login credentials, the volume doesn't mount. That makes Synk useless for me. What's wrong with the app's SMB mounting ?

Synk Backup ReviewHome folder ok; bootable system not yet ready - Version: 6.0.3, 2/20/2007 10:39AM PST

If you have realized how great it would be to have a current bootable system on an external drive, keep looking (hint: SuperDuper). Synk is ok and I've used it for a long time for home folder backups. But it isn't quite ready to do the whole enchilada for you. Then again, neither is Apple's own Backup 3.0...

And yes, that new hierarchical log needs an "expand all" function. It'll drive you nuts...

Synk Backup ReviewA GREAT app. Wish it revealed errors easier, though. - Version: 6.0.2, 11/26/2006 12:36PM PST

Been using Synk and SuperDuper for over a year now, and the latest versions of Synk are just better (and support is excellent). However, after a backup the app reports if there were any conflicts or errors at the top of the window, and you're supposed to look at the log to learn about those conflicts/errors. the problem is that each backed up item may be burried in folders within folders, so it's really time consuming to find your errors -- you have to click the arrow for each folder and subfolder until you find the error/conflict. it would be great if you could just double-click the conflict/error report at the top of the window to reeveal the problems.
